While often used interchangeably, eyesight and vision are not quite the same.

Eyesight refers to the sharpness of your eyes—how clearly you can see objects at different distances, usually measured with an eye chart.

Vision, on the other hand, is broader: it includes not just how clearly you see, but how your brain interprets what your eyes take in. This includes depth perception, eye coordination, tracking, and even visual memory.

In short, eyesight is a part of vision, but vision is the full picture of how your eyes and brain work together by processing the visual information that is presented.

The Link Between Vision and Learning

A large percentage of a child's learning takes place through what they see. If there are any interferences to a child's vision, they may not develop to their full potential and affect their academic success.

As vision is learned, it is possible to identify and train on the visual skills that a child may not possess.
